President’s Welcome
I send greetings to all members and prospective members. 2010 is here. A decade has passed by so quickly. I can remember, like I’m sure you can as well, when we were preparing for the year 2000. The question I recently asked myself was “What have I accomplished during this past decade?” This is a question I think we should all ask ourselves. More importantly, we should begin to think of what will I accomplish during this upcoming decade.
The economy has certainly gone through the economic cycle, giving us an opportunity to realize some enormous gains then at the same time, taking back most of those gains at unprecedented levels. Bottom line is, we received a wake up call when we least expected to.
Moving forward, professionals are faced with reinventing themselves, reevaluating career plans and in certain instances, forced to take a step back in one’s career or a lateral move just to maintain employment. During this year, it will be critical to develop and maintain strategies which will enable you to elevate your career and separate yourself from the mediocre sales professional. In addition, developing skills to improve you with your personal lives/development is important also.
This is where National Sales Network will assist you with enhancing your professional career with our leadership development and Sales Professional programs. During my sales career and tenure as a leader of NSN, I made sure I kept myself accountable for my professional development. This is an area that some sales professionals lose sight of. It’s important for one to maintain accountability and at the same time continue to challenge you to be the best person and sales professional/manager you can be.
The mission of National Sales Network will always be focused on you, the sales professional. As president, I intend to fulfill the mission of the organization with the assistance of my leadership team, our members and corporate partners.
I look forward to networking with each of you during 2010. Thank you in advance for supporting our chapter initiatives, encouraging your colleagues to connect with National Sales Network and most of all, bring your enthusiasm, passion and positive energy to NSN by sharing your talents and expertise as sales professionals.
Regards,
Jason Murray
President
NJ/NY Metro Chapter
